I haven't posted in a while so I figured I should stop by and say a little something.
I'm 17 weeks now. Lately I've been thinking a lot about time and how it passes. Phil and I were with some friends who just had their baby about 2 weeks ago and it was making me think of the timeline of pregnancy. They told us that the baby would be here before we know it, but I think that's just something you think once you have the baby no matter how long the pregnancy felt.
Of course once you are holding that sweet little bundle in your arms, the last 9 months of pain and discomfort melt away and you don't remember life without baby. I'm sure that once our baby is here I will tell other pregnant moms the same thing, but it sure doesn't feel like this baby is ever going to get here.
Patience has never been my strong suite. I think another factor for me during this pregnancy is that i'm not working so life has really slowed down since I graduated from college. I need this time to relax after that season of constantly running, but it does make time move a little slower. Sometimes I wish that I could get my (birth center) job back just until the baby is here, basically to pass time a little faster.
So there are a few things I may start doing to keep myself busy. One would be making baby/toddler hats to sell. I haven't decided how serious I will get about this but it depends on demand. If I have a lot of people wanting them then I may go all out and make my own website (with the help of my IT savvy husband of course). If it's just one here and there, then I will just keep it to Facebook.
I will also probably start helping my Mom with her Christmas Caramel sales. For those who don't know, she sells hand made chocolate dipped caramels and is well known for being the "Caramel Queen." She has a full time job now so she will probably need a lot of help to keep up with the high demands. I grew up helping with this since she has been making them for many many years. The steps that I generally help with is making the caramel and gift wrapping the boxes once they are made. She generally is the one to do the cutting, dipping, and individual wrapping.
So here's to patience and keeping myself busy...
