Coconut

I've had a headache every day since (and including) Sunday. The one on Sunday was the worst, but the last 3 have been simply annoying. I never really got headaches most of my life so I think that is making this harder to handle. I'm simply not used to them.

I finally caved on Monday and just bought some Tylenol. Before that I was determined to power through them but it just got to the point where it wasn't worth it anymore. When I talked to my Midwife about the headaches, she stressed adequate daily water and electrolyte intake. She wants me to try to drink half my body weight in water plus a little. I weigh 151 so approximately 75oz, and she rounded it to 90.

That's a lot of water! Also, her suggestion for electrolytes was Coconut Water. Mainly because it has a lot less sugar than something like Gatorade. I found this at Target.


I'm not gonna lie, it doesn't taste that good. I can choke it down without gagging though so that's the plus side. Since I started drinking it about an hour ago I do feel like it has helped my headache so maybe that's what my body was in need of. I think from now on I will just start my mornings with a water bottle and one of these as soon as I wake up.

  1. I drank nothing but G2 Gatorade and water during my pregnancy and it seemed to work for me.

  3. I tried that, but from a different brand. Yeah... it is hard to drink the whole thing. Maybe mix it in a fruit smoothie?
